Do I need to keep the app open while I walk?

No. Teraloo reads your step count from Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android). Open the app whenever you like and your progress catches up.

My steps are not updating.

Check that Teraloo is allowed to read steps. iPhone: open the Health app, tap your profile picture, then Apps → Teraloo, and turn on Steps. Android: open Health Connect → App permissions → Teraloo and allow Steps. Your phone or watch also needs to be recording steps in Apple Health or Health Connect.

Is the distance real?

Distance in the game is worked out from your steps. Courses are game routes that visit sightseeing checkpoints; they are not meant to match the real distance between places.

What data is sent to your server?

Your daily step totals, how they were applied to your journey, and your travel progress (journeys, arrivals, cards and settings), stored under an anonymous ID. Detailed health records are never sent. See the privacy policy for details.

How do I move to a new phone?

On your old phone, open Settings and note your transfer code. On the new phone, choose "Transfer" when you start the app and enter the code. This works between iPhone and Android too. A code can be used once; your new phone shows a new code.

I lost my phone and my transfer code.

Because there is no login, we have no other way to confirm the data is yours, so it can't be restored. Please keep your transfer code somewhere safe.

How do I delete my data?

In the app, open Settings → Delete data. You can also delete it on this website with your transfer code. Deleting the app does not delete the data on our server.
